Installation and licence
Install the addon, activate its licence, and read the NivoSync → Elementor dashboard card by card — including exactly what happens when the licence is not active.
Before you install
The addon checks three things on activation and refuses to load if any is missing:
- NivoSync core, active and licenced.
- Elementor 3.16 or newer.
- A core recent enough for the addon's bridge contract. If your core is older, the addon disables itself and says so in the admin rather than throwing errors on your storefront.
Install
- Download
nivosync-elementor-1.0.0.zipfrom your account. - Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, install, activate.
- Go to NivoSync → Elementor.
You will land on the licence card, because nothing else is available until the licence is active.
Activate the licence
Paste the key you activated in NivoSync and press Activate. It is the same key — a bundle licence covers the core and the addon; there is no second purchase.
Once active, the rest of the dashboard appears.
What happens without a licence
This is worth reading before you find out the hard way, and it is also the answer to "why did my widgets disappear?".
In the Elementor editor, the NivoSync widgets are hidden from the panel — you cannot add new ones, and the six NivoSync groups are gone. Widgets already on the page render a notice explaining that the licence needs attention, with a link to the licence screen.
On your site, the addon's widgets stop rendering and those pages fall back to the active NivoSync theme. Visitors never see a broken layout or an error; they see the theme's version of that page.
In the dashboard, everything except the licence card is locked. The save endpoint refuses server-side too, so the lock is not just a hidden form.
The dashboard, card by card
Licence. Key (masked), renewal date, the account it is registered to, and a Deactivate button for moving the licence to another site.
Stats. Four counters: published Elementor templates, active assignments, NivoSync surfaces, and languages included.
System status. Five checks with a coloured dot each:

| Bookings addon | Detected, so consultation buttons open the booking form instead of the built-in enquiry note. |
Template assignments. The table where you point each surface at a template. See Template roles and surfaces.
Dynamic data. A reference card listing every dynamic tag, the [nivosync_data] shortcode, and every {placeholder} — the same content as Dynamic data, kept inside WordPress so you do not have to leave the admin to look up a field name.

Updating
Updates arrive through the normal WordPress updates screen while the licence is active. The addon and the core are versioned independently — you do not need to update them together, but the addon states its minimum core version and will tell you if you get too far apart.
